This template mirrors the Indian travel-agent bus ticket — the one you get from local agents running Jay Dayaram, SRS, Orange Tours or similar private operators — with a PNR number, boarding and dropping points, bus operator details, and a per-passenger seat list. It is not an IRCTC/redBus invoice clone; it's the operator-issued ticket that a village bus agent hands to passengers before a Sleeper/AC journey.
Use it if you are a small bus operator or travel desk issuing tickets yourself, a passenger reprinting a lost ticket (agents often have the record but not the original copy), or a traveller maintaining journey records for a trip that has actually happened. Fabricating bus tickets for travel claims that never occurred is expense fraud — see the disclaimer further down.

GST on bus tickets — the short version
The template captures a single Amount Paid — no GST breakup on the bill face. Here's why that's usually accurate:
- Non-AC stage-carriage bus (public city/inter-city): Exempt from GST.
- Non-AC contract-carriage bus (private operator, pre-booked): Exempt from GST.
- AC contract-carriage / tourist permit bus: 5% GST (without ITC) — treated like AC non-Radio taxi.
- E-commerce operator booking (redBus, AbhiBus): the platform charges GST per the applicable rate; the operator's invoice may differ.
Most private Sleeper Non-AC buses you book through a local agent are exempt, which is why the template doesn't force a tax field. If you run AC buses and need to break out 5%, include the tax inside Amount Paid and mention "Incl. 5% GST" on the bus type field.
Use only for genuine travel
Generate this ticket only for (a) bus operators/agents issuing real tickets to passengers, (b) passengers regenerating a lost ticket for a journey that actually took place, or (c) personal record-keeping for genuine trips. Creating tickets for travel that never happened to claim reimbursement is expense fraud. Using another real operator's name/phone without authorisation is a separate wrong. Please don't misuse this.
Who legitimately uses this template?
- Small private bus operators (village-to-city sleeper routes) who still issue handwritten tickets and want to move to PDF.
- Local travel agents acting as booking desks for operators — they already issue a carbon-copy ticket; this is the digital version.
- Tour package companies bundling a bus leg with hotel and sightseeing.
- Passengers who lost a ticket from an agent that doesn't keep digital copies, and need something for their travel log.
- College trip / school excursion organisers providing all parents a detailed itinerary-cum-ticket.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Journey and dropping dates swapped. Overnight journeys start one day, end the next. Double-check the year and date rollovers.
- Journey Time format inconsistencies. The field is free text. Stick to one format ("09:15 PM" or "21:15") within the same ticket to avoid ambiguity.
- Passenger seat numbers missing or duplicated. Two passengers on the same seat is obviously wrong — but easy to miss in the textarea. Verify the seat column before generating.
- Using a fabricated operator name. If there's no real "Jay Dayaram Travels" running your claimed route, the ticket is useless for any reimbursement review.
- Ignoring the dropping-point fields. These make the ticket look real — a ticket with only "To City: Veraval" without a dropping location looks thin.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a redBus or AbhiBus invoice?
No. This is the operator/agent-issued ticket — the style you see from local travel agents for private sleeper buses. For a redBus tax invoice with platform GST breakup, you'd need a different template (platforms generate those directly from the booking).
Does this template handle multiple passengers on one PNR?
Yes. Add each passenger on their own line in the Passengers textarea (Name | Age | Gender | SeatNo). The Amount Paid represents the total for the whole PNR, not per passenger.
Why is there no separate tax field?
Because most private Sleeper Non-AC buses are GST-exempt, and for 5% AC bus tickets, the tax is typically embedded in the displayed fare. If you specifically need the 5% broken out, include "Fare ₹1,340 + GST ₹67 = ₹1,407" inside the Bus Type field text.
Can I use this for a stage-carriage/state transport bus ticket?
State transport bus tickets (UPSRTC, KSRTC, APSRTC) have a very different format — usually just a printed stub from an onboard conductor machine. This template is designed for private operator/agent tickets with named passengers and pre-allotted seats. For a state transport lost-ticket case, contact the corporation directly.
Is PNR number format standardised?
No. Unlike IRCTC's 10-digit PNR, private bus PNRs have no standard — each operator uses their own numbering. Use whatever your operator uses (often 5-8 digits).
